Thoughts For This Week

“People fail to get along because they fear each other; they fear each other because they don’t know each other; they don’t know each other because they have not communicated with each other.” – Martin Luther King Jr.

Hello Nugl Family,

This week is the presidential inauguration. Tensions are very high. No matter where you fall on the political spectrum, left, right, center, or nowhere at all, you can’t escape the intensity. Here are a few suggestions to help you through the coming weeks.

Stay out of fear.

I know that can be challenging right now, but it is critical. Start by managing your stress. When you are stressed, you are more fearful, and when you are afraid you are more stressed. Amp up your practice: meditate, exercise, pray, journal, find things to laugh about, sleep, eat well, breathe.

Limit the information that you consume. News, social media, conversations with others about what is going on, can create stress, fear, or tension, so limit or eliminate it. It has an impact on your state of mind and mental well-being. Fear creates more fear. Peace creates more peace so be diligent in creating more peace for yourself. Whatever is going on “out there” will still happen, so take care of your inner world. Creating more inner peace adds to the collective peace. Perpetuating more fear adds to the collective fear. You have impact.

Trust your gut.

A lot is going on right now. There are different narratives and confusion about what is what. Trust your intuition to tell you what is true. Set aside your emotion, intellect, and politics for a moment, open your heart and mind, and let your inner wisdom speak. Be brave and trust this information above all else, including the news media.

Be open to the bigger picture.

There is a great deal going on right now, and it is SO much more significant than politics. It isn’t about Republican vs. Democrat, who is the best “man” for the job, or all the drama shown in the media. There are bigger forces at play here. Please read that again. It may not make sense to you now, and I will elaborate in future posts. Be open and trust that there is something much more extensive and extraordinary unfolding and will be revealed in time. It may not seem like that now, so hang tight and be patient.

I have been saying that we are at the threshold of creating a new world for a while. It will be a glorious world of freedom, equality, compassion, and opportunity for all. This year the pieces will begin to be put in place. It may not look the way you think it should, but that doesn’t mean it is terrible. It is happening. If you prefer the old ways, then you can continue on that path. If you want to be part of the new world created, dare to let go of the old and embrace the unfolding new. It can be as easy or as difficult as you make it for you, too, are a creator in this.

I will write about this often this year and offer resources to navigate these changing times with ease. If you need insight or support, reach out to me Julie@juliefarha.com.
